Melbourne - Summer 10/11 Buying
Ms Koko and Jo (the Koko IT girl) had a successful trip to Melbourne in July. Not only did we live the cosmopolitian Melbourne lifestyle with copious amounts of fluids (coffee and wine) and fabulous restaurants, we attended the FURNITEX and DECORATION + DESIGN Trade Fair at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre discovering some great new designers. Look out close to Christmas for some stunning artwork that we found from the Designer Boys Art Collections - Gavin & Warren aka Gazza & Wazza from the televsion series "The Block".
We also visited many of our core suppliers in their showrooms including Albi Imports (decorator), Olga Berg (gorgeous handbags - day, race, evening bags), Accent (jewellery), Nanjing Road (fab Moko designer jewellery) and Bambis (S&P homewares). Here we are in S&P HQ in Melbourne with the lovely Marianthi (our Qld Sales Executive) and Franciou (one of Bambis' Head Honcho's).

Bulimba - Ms Koko has Left the Building
Koko Homewares has sadly ceased trading at our Bulimba site from Saturday 17th July 2010. We wish the new owners a warm welcome into the gift and homewares industry. Thank you to all our loyal customers we have loved being part of Oxford Street for the last 8 years. Koko Homewares still has a Brisbane presence at the Emporium store in Fortitude Valley. The Koko team wish our fabulous Bulimba Manager Jane all the best in her new career adventures.
Ms Koko decided it was a good time to consolidate and focus on the Fortitude Valley and Buderim stores and is looking forward to launching a shopping cart on-line in readiness for Christmas.

Summer 10/11 Trends
Black, white and a friend (ie. red, turquoise, whatever) was a major colour palette and the brighter the friend the better! Summer will be blomming with a big statement of florals, in prints, embelishments and foil stamping. Crinkles, metallics, lame and stain soften the clean lady like lines of evening and race wear.
Glamour - Bling it on! Sequins, mesh, pewter, champagne and over sized diamantes all shine this coming summer! Paris is so last year! The new city to be seen in is definately the Big Apple with a nod to Art Deco and lots of chrome.
Calling all Studs - cushions to evening bags are all studded up! All sizes, big and brassy, small and shining, silver or diamante are making a statement. Laser cut detail is all over day bags jazzing up neutrals and LBB's (little black bags).

New York New York
Ms Koko is on the countdown to her adventure to New York to visit the NYIGF (New York International Gift Fair), one of the largest trade fairs in the world. The five day event will give Ms Koko the opportunity to absorb all the NY styles, directions and colours that will be due to hit our shores mid 2011.
Ms Koko will be living in Manhattan and plans to retrace the steps of the fashion icon SJP, maybe a cameo role in Sex in the City 3!
